Kai Cafe

Finally - somewhere decent (and licensed) to eat in Te Kuiti.
The service was great - friendly, welcoming and very efficient. The little touches make all the difference - like noticing that we had finished our water and bringing us another bottle before we had time to ask.
We were in a bit of a hurry, so chose meals from the snack menu, but they were very good - simple food, cooked well and nicely presented. Even passed muster with my chef hubby! The coffee was excellent too.
It's casual dining with a menu and wine list befitting a far more upmarket restaurant.
Kai will become a regular stop-off for us on our trips south.

McCole, 11 March 2009 ( stars). Kai is a cafe with a fantastic range of food - you can choose from Panini, Pasta, Prawns, Pies or Pastries plus lots more e.g off the board/specials menu/brunch menu and of course breakfast, their egg dishes are simply superb - everything home made. Their service is second to none and their coffee is the best.

Go visit, they are the only cafe on the LEFT going south, and of course, the only cafe on the RIGHT going north on highway 3 - next to the big VTNZ building.
